WHAT IS PLAYGROUP?
Playgroups bring young children, parents, families and communities together to learn and develop through informal play activities and social interaction. Playgroups help parents and caregivers build social and support networks that encourage and assist them in their valuable parenting role.

HOW MUCH DOES PLAYGROUP COST? WHAT TIME ARE THE SESSIONS?

ARE PLAYGROUPS JUST FOR FIRST TIME PARENTS?
No. We welcome all children between the ages of 0-5 years. We also welcome Mother’s Groups and have availability for new groups - email info@hohnesroadplayhouse for more information.

DO I NEED TO ATTEND WITH MY CHILD?
Yes. A parent or carer needs to be present throughout the duration of a playgroup session.

I HAVE SEVERAL CHILDREN. CAN THEY ALL COME TO PLAYGROUP?
Yes, families can enroll more than one child aged 0-5 years. There is a family discount available.

WHAT STRUCTURE IS THERE AT PLAYGROUP?
Hohnes Road Playhouse offers unstructured, child-led playgroups. Children are free to participate in any activity or play with any toy of their choosing.
We supplement play with activities including sessions with incursions, planting, cooking, science experiments, sensory play and art activities.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING TO PLAYGROUP?
  • Please bring a snack and drink for your child(ren). We are a nut-free facility so nuts or nut products are not allowed
  • You may like to pack a change of clothes if you plan on playing outdoors or using the art supplies
  • There are toilets and baby change facilities available on-site
